CALGARY, Alberta — June 9, 2021 — News Release — TC Energy Corporation (TSX, NYSE: TRP) (TC Energy or the Company) confirmed today that after a comprehensive review of its options, and in consultation with its partner, the Government of Alberta, it has terminated the Keystone XL Pipeline Project (the Project).
Project to create over 8,000 union jobs in 2021. TC Energy Corporation has awarded more than US$1.6 billion worth of contracts to six major American union contractors to execute pipeline construction across 800 miles (1,287 km) in three states in the U.S. on the Keystone XL Pipeline in 2021.
TC Energy and Natural Law Energy (NLE) announced they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for NLE to pursue an equity interest in the Keystone XL Project and other potential related midstream and power projects. This MOU exemplifies the strong commitment TC Energy and NLE have made to create a meaningful and significant long-term partnership.
