Lighting the way to a safer community

Posted by Keystone XL

Keystone XL - The lighting project will provide additional safety to pedestrians and drivers alike and a win for the entire community.

Safety is our number one value and identifying projects along the Keystone XL route that foster safety are a high priority. We recently contributed to the town of Shaunavon’s lighting project, aimed at keeping their citizens safe while promoting healthy and active lifestyles in Saskatchewan.

Shaunavon’s high-traffic walking path is mostly underlit. As the Canadian days get shorter, the lighting in many areas along 5th Avenue and the Trans Canada Trail are at a minimum. The lighting project will provide additional safety to pedestrians and drivers alike and a win for the entire community.

“We’ve just paved the trail and transplanted trees, so new lighting will be icing on the cake, we cannot wait to see it completed,” said Shaunavon Mayor Kyle Bennett.

The Town of Shaunavon and all the surrounding communities appreciate Keystone XL and their continued commitment to our communities. Their generous donation towards the lighting project along 5th Avenue will be a great addition to the safety and usability of this new trail.”
